Dancehall Friday

I’ve just started watching this movie about dancehall, well, somewhat, it’s called dancehall queen, and I’ll get to the background eventually, I’m not even sure why I clicked on the link to it (youtubeing again…), I wasn’t’ watching anything related to dancehall today, except for part of a Beyonce vid that I actually saw a class do a dance cover of, just moments after realizing that Michelle Obama  and Beyonce wouldn’t be on it after having skimmed the description…I skim a lot…

So, anyway, I was just clicking random videos, and saw this one. I think one of the main characters looked like my friend who I tried to find on Facebook earlier that day, but it doesn’t matter.
Within the first half hour, it became the absolute saddest thing I have ever seen. (Though, I should keep in mind that I haven’t seen many American movies, either, so my scope of “saddest movies” could be kind of limited…but that’s beside the point). There’s this man who’s not actually an uncle, what’s shaping up to be the worst mother on the planet (ok, one of them, but I’m sure you catch my drift), and the uncle’s all mad ‘cuz the girl is hanging out with a boy her own age, the mom’s not stopping him because of TERRIBLE ass reasons, just TERRIBLE, I can’t even…I just.. but I’m still gonna finish this movie, and probably watch a few others, ‘cuz it is intriguing, really. I think the worst of it is over.  I just finished it, and it was a good movie with a happy ending, I’d recommend it.
But it made me remember that I want to learn dancehall! It looks like so much fun, and the things these people can do, I just can’t comprehend it right now, like, I didn’t know the human body could move like that, so now I want to figure out how it’s done, and do it myself!
But let’s put this in some form of perspective: I can only kind of booty pop. But I can wine, and…do some other club dance-y stuff…Oh, and I can follow choreography.
But if I could do that thing where I’m dancing and doing a handstand at the same time, that’d be pretty BA, huh?

K…maybe that sounded a little skanky…I don’t’ want to be a skank…I don’t like skanky hooers. But I think one can club-dance like a boss and not be a complete hooker. It is possible. I don’t even think it’s that rare.

That’s about it,r eally. I just wanna dance.

“I wanna dance with somebody, I wanna feel the heat with somebody!”…couldn’t resist.

50 Squats a day?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I just found a post challenging me to do 50 squats a day until christmas...

Among the things I'm not sure I can do...I did 50 yesterday, and that literally hurt my soul. K, that's a lie, but it was torture, well, today it was. I'm super sore from it, more sore than I was form the legs challenge, but I noticed that it got easier as I kept doing it, so maybe 50 squats a day won't kill me? Idk.

I don't really have much today. Just working and school. I'll be thooper busy, lol. But that's ok, 'cuz I'm saving for a car. ^_^

ADVENTURE TIIIIIME

No, not the cartoon, unfortunately, but, you know what’s awesome? Nice cab drivers.
They are serially awesome, FORREALL. …Somewhat of an inside joke…Aiden’ll get it at least, lol.
Anysnooch, no, I’m serious about those cabbies. I was hanging out with a girl I met at work the other night, and ended up having to head home sooner than I wanted ‘cuz freaking busses…anyway, one bus is taking forever to arrive, and I see this cab just sitting there. I saw it pull in, and since I never saw anyone come out for it, or try to hail it either, I figured I would. This dude let me get where I needed to for cheap.
So I’m waiting around for another bus, which turns out I’d just missed by a few minutes. I’d only have to wait a half hour for the next, but then I’d miss my last bus home, so I start walking, when I realize that bus goes down the freeway…I can’t exactly walk on one of those, so I stop and decide to wait anyway. When I see another cab just kind of sitting there.
I looked at it for a while, decided that it would probably be too expensive, but then I’m like “I can’t afford to miss my last bus!!!!!” So I walk over, ask dude how much it is to downtown, he tells me a discount, I hop in, get my monies ready, and we chat for a bit in the cab. He must've thought I was foreign, though, 'cuz he complimented me on my english...Until I told him I'm from here. Which still seemed to surprise him, lol. Idk.

Well, anysnooch, I figured since he’s doing me a favor, and I’ve never seen a cabby eat, he might be hungry, and that way I can somewhat pay for inconveniencing him. He eventually took a large fry, I got home, and Aiden and I chilled on the couch with some food until I went to bed because I had class the next day.
Aiden had an adventure of his own yesterday, which resulted in a full, very large pot of spaghetti. He does make good spaghetti.
Anysnooches, that’s all for now, lovies.

thxgiving fitspo...late...

It’s been a while, ‘eh? Well, Let’s start with thanksgiving, huh?
So messy, lol.

I did not end up in Oklahoma – which I’m not even sure I mentioned to you guys, but we were invited to Oklahom, but my new work schedule conflicted with it, so we ended up staying home and having our own thanksgiving. It was nice, I slow cooked the chicken all night, and made four cheese oven mac. So delicious, I’ll maybe give you the recipe later, if you want it. I make that every thanksgiving, except last time because someone got to it before I did, wait, no, that was two thanksgivings ago. I was at a strange house, that’s why.

Well, anyway, being the non-traditionalists that we are, we also had pizza, and now I know why mom used to get mad at the grapes magically disappearing *coughi’maddictedcough * Sorry mummy. (It’s ok, I talked to her on the ohone about it. She just laughed. )
We wwatched movies, but then he got called in to work.
I have to work Black Friday – well, he does too, but no one will be at his building ‘cuz it’s not a store, lol. I don’t know what black Friday is like around 4 pm, when I start, but I hear that we’ll probably close late.

Anyway, what else has happened since I last blogged to you all? It doesn’t seem like much, except that I had a full shift of work last week, and it went nicely. I still don’t know if I prefer the floor or the register, but I think the floor because there is always something to do. Not that there isn’t on register, but…the floor interests me a bit more, I guess. I still haven’t worked fitting rooms, and from what I can tell, we all rotate areas whenever we work, which is great, because we didn’t at the deli, which resulted in much burnout.

***ramblytime***
I want more grapes. (I just finished a cup…ugh. Now we know why I don’t buy these, I will go through them so fast. Same with cherries, but they’re not in season, and I refuse to settle for cranberries – tart little devils they are. YUCK!)

Anyway, another reason I’m glad I have this job is that on deli pay, I wouldn’t make enough to go paleo. With this job, I have no doubt that within the next month or so I can start stocking up on all my paleo-ish favorites, (you can even eat bacon, so long as it’s virtually unprocessed, which means you’d best find a farm to buy it from, but look, farmer’s market open year round! Woot woot! I’m a happy camper!)

Scratch all that, I'm keeping deli on the weekends, since I close the other store on weekends, lol. Well, so far. I'll see if they'll just let me do that.

Aiden and I have agreed that since He’s the Carb King and I’m Protein Queen, that I’d be the main one buying meats. Which is fine by me, because I’m also the main one eating them :P. As for fruits and veggies – I believe I’m also in charge of those because I like them so much, and you best believe that I’m including much kimchi. Since that shit never goes bad, I’m hitting up BOTH Asian markets and getting my Kimchi ON. Hardcore.
And veggies are usually cheap at that one market, so I can go there, and I want to try Hmongtown, because I know they have lots of veggies there. (Which would also give me an excuse to buy one or three of their egg rolls. They’re so different from the ones at Chinese restaurants, and really, the only kind I’ll eat, lol.)

Ooh, speaking of Paleo – look, sue me, alright, I’m eating pre-flavored intant oatmeal. (It was a buck, and I need something in the meantime ‘cuz those bananas are KILLING my stomach, not in the “Oh, that just means you’re getting your fiber on, guuuurrl”, NO. It’s killing me in the “I need to find a vomitory receptacle before I get to school” manner.) So, I’m trying to go easy on my stomach, but even these oeatmeals have flax seeds in them. I remember when mom started using those. Ooh, I had no idea what was going on, but I won’t continue down that path because, well, you know, I don’t want to gross you out.

Walter: Everybody Poops, dear
Me:…*thought * I don’t even care, gross, dude. Not blogging about it.
K, well, that was a Fringe reference, ‘cuz I’m such a nerd, lol. Ooh, I’m going through withdrawal, too. I don’t even know what I’m gonna do when that show is off air forever. I need my fix.

Anysnooch, what else is there, Oh, back to diet, lol.
I found this on Tumblr: If you do what you’re supposed to 80% of the time, the other 20% doesn’t matter: the 80/20 principle.
Speaking of which: I just went to look for it on my phone, found tumblr instead, and saw food pr0nz. …makin’ me want to buy all them veggies!!!!
So, I also found another one:
How to lose weight:
1)  eat right
2)  Workout
3)  Drink Water.
Pic of amazing abs right next to them.
Which brings me to my next point:
I also came across this afer a day of tumblring (exaggeration, but still)
But the pics like these where the women have color are largely ignored...I shall forever reblog HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Is fitspo just as damaging as thinspo:
Ifyou don’t know what I’m talking about,
Fitspo is fitness inspiration, pictures, quotes, etc. of healthy people, generally in extra-fit shape being all healthy-like, and encouraging the reader to do the same.
Thinspo is genrally attributed to people with eating disorders, with pictures of people ranging from skinny to emaciated where you can see all of their bones, and quotes about how to resist eating longer, and such.
Some thinspo, doesn't all look like this, but a lot of it can.

I can see where on a venn diagram some of these things might intersect, like the fitspo pictures tend to have skinny people as the subject, but these skinny people also have muscle tone/definition, and the quotes aren’t “that’s not hunger, that’s your stomach applauding”, but things like “if you give up now, what was the point of even trying”, or something like that.
So sure, someone could use fitspo as thinspo, but that’s not the message I even saw one pic yesterday (I know, one out of like, a million) where a rather large woman was in the olympics lifting a barbell that probably weighs more than my real dad (and hence, would also weigh more than my stepdad, just given proportions), so yes, she was fit, and healthy, and on that picture, it was cropped with another one on the bottom that said “I know that this – pic of large strong lady – is just as much a fitspiration as this – pic of skinny woman who has muscle tone just kind of sitting around smiling )

So then there’s the argument of banning fitspo. Here’s where I’m like : IZ U STOOPIT?
Do NOT ban my Fitness Inspirtation, key word being FITNESS. Dear Freaking G……and here’s where I need to say “woosah”….
I just think people need to learn the difference (like I did), and then choose the healthier route.

Hey, lovies

I know it's been a while since my last post, so here's a mini update. Really nothing significant as I'm posting from my phone lol.
Do you know what awesome feels like?
I do. Clarified hair. I love clarifying shampoo.
Wanna know what awful feels like?
Clarifying your hair a second time just to be sure. My hair was so stiff!!
Then I conditioned it, and all was well.

When I get a paddle brush, I'll try a no heat method of drying my hair. I'll let you know how that goes once I do it.
I know I still have a cleanser to review for you lot. Also, I found this skin milk stuff in my med cabinet, I'll try it again for you all and see how it feels. I remember loving the smell of it.

Work has been keeping me busy, but that's good, because the deli hasn't. More about that later, though.
Kk that's all for now lovies, have a splendiffy week. Til next time :D

Picsplosion.

Here are the pics I promised you all, lol. This is what I meant by the "modeling" thing, lol.

This is what the organizer painted. I liked this one a lot. I'm sad that I didn't get pics of some that were done last week. There was one guy who would draw for less than ten minutes, then throw it away. He was also kinda grumpy, but I think that's 'cuz he worked in quinoa fields. It was also cold outside.

A very nice man did this one. I really liked this one, the man who did it was experimenting with a new technique. ^_^

Look at this one upside down. Also drawn by a rather nice man.

Ha, I liked this one, too. (lol, I liked all of them. There's one I didn't get, the guy did it left handed, and in a new style.)

I like that she was beginning to incorporate colors.

That's all for those. I did that for two fridays, and it earned me a little extra cash. You should see if there are any art classes that need models in your areas. I was invited back, and I intend to return on a day where I won't be busy.

Oh, I guess you can't see them very well, the Fire sauce says "If you never do, you'll never know", surprising fitspo at taco bell, lol. The next one says "Leave no dare undone", and the last says "things just got real". Love these.

so, I got to my shift early, and was surprised to find the mall doors unlocked, but then I saw the cleaning crew, so...less surprising, I guess. This is all because well, busses run janky where I live, so I'm going to buy  a car eventually.

SEALIFE, you could see some of the fish swimming in their open tank down the escalator, but I didn't get a pic, lol.

Here's one I thought you would all like - Haagen-Dazs, right next to a chocolate store, but not the Godiva one...there's two, I think in the mall. Idk, though.

And build-a- bear for anyone who wants to make one.

Bet you can tell what this is, lol.

That suspended globe just says "nick universe" or something like that. Janky phone pic...sorry

And since I was still bored, there's my Forever 21.
I want to buy so much from there, but I'm gonna refrain until I've worked there for a bit longer. I am, however, getting some of our Limited Edition Hello Kitty stuff, it was made specifically for Forever 21, so if you're thinking "oh, I'll just go get this at Sanrio/somewhere else on the interwebs that isn't the F21 site", NO. It won't be there, lol.

Kk, that's all for my last update of the day.

WIT, picless :(

I’m changing stuffs to weigh in Thursday…seems to be the day where I actually see a change. I forgot that last week and the week before, but I checked my stats (all of them that I measure), and I always see a difference on Thursday. So weird.

Anyway, there’s also that no cutting challenge I’m in. Pleased to say, scissors have not touched my hair since (not very hard for me, though. I only ever trim anyway when they do touch my hair…), however, my bangs are now always in my eyes (literally, I’ve got bang hair poking the shiz out of my eyes every day.) It’s ok, though ‘cuz I kind of want to grow them out until I get my hair to a certain length (idk which, yet), then I’ll go bangsies again. (I'm thinking, maybe full apl, or bsl? Idk)

Updates on any and everything:

I did a catering event on Saturday. It was fun, and I would definitely do it again. The best part was probably that I didn’t have to wear any special attire, so I could just wear jeans as usual and all was hunky-dory.
Also, Friday, I went to the mall to get apps ‘cuz I need another job. I plan on staying at the deli, I’ll find out what hours I officially work on Monday, but by the time you read this I’ll know for sure…ish, I think. I can’t wait. I’ll be working at Forever21. I’ve been wanting to work there for a while: firstly ‘cuz that place is awesome, and secondly because I want retail experience. (I’m tired of being a cashier in the food business, but probably won’t mind it much in the clothing world, mostly ‘cuz I won’t be tempted to eat food since it won’t be there to eat.) And I’m pretty good at not buying five million pairs of jeans I don’t need. However, I do need two to replace a couple no, three to replace three that I won’t be able to wear anymore because of unfortunate tears…some from wear, others from God knows what… egh. Digressing.
So, that’s about all that’s been up with me. I’m currently in the middle of a conditioning/oil treatment, so my hair regimen is also pretty in-tact. I’m finding though, that I only have to work with my hair once a week instead of twice like I posted before, Idk what was up with my hair then, but it’s back to normal.

Oh, but I lied, my next post today will have pics of the modeling thing I did for this class. I mean it's not like, photoshoot modeling, obvs, and you'll see how good these people were, at least, I think they were good.

But work yesterday was fun. We did paperwork, watched a training video ( it was slightly cheesy, but that was still fine, I enjoyed it), had a tour around the store, learning about the different "girls" who represent our departments. And wouldn't you know the one right up my alley - they even had a Sporty girl, with yoga mats and fitness-y clothes, Oh, I can't wait! I didn't see any fitness shoes though, but that's cuz freakin' no one wants to work out when it's cold - at least, not in my state, but I'll get to that later.

We had a li'l break and went to starbucks - luckily, right downstairs! hahaha! working at a mall may prove to be too convenient, lol!.

I have a couple pic-treats for you lot during my next post, promise. There's one I think you'll love a lot, especially the ladies. ^_^

After our break, we trained in on registeres, and worked the rest of our shifts.

I go back in today ata five and work 'til close. I work four to close on friday, then maybe I'll have my schedule for next week. They said I'l likely get more hours, too. SO HAPPYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! I seriously need a job where I can get hella hours, lol.

Kk, that's about it for me now, bubye.

Wrong order, lol...

I made my first video yesterday, about how I made onigiri (successfully) for the first time, but I’m still not sure I want to put it up online, first of all: The lighting still wasn’t enough (I might be able to take care of that before it goes up, like, edit it on my lappy), but then I got all exasperated ‘cuz on the second try, I actually got my onigiri on the camera

Looks nummy, huh?
Huh, that is a bit bright though.

(I misjudged how far I needed to aim it the first time)…there was a somewhat awkward delay where I have to start talking about seaweed, so I think I’m just going to try and make vids of other things first, and also…I’m going to use makeup, ‘cuz I didn’t have any on today, lol. All day long, which isn’t terribly unusual for me, but I like putting makeup on.

Anyway, I don’t know what I’m going to vlog about first, but now that I know my camera’s quality doesn’t suck the ass of majorness, I can confidently say that I don’t need to go out and buy a special one just for vlogging.

Eh…That’s about it for now, I guess. I’m just trying to transfer the pics from my camera to my computer. Last I checked, there were like four more minutes of transferring left…started with eight, but it might be over.  I just deleted like 200 pics. There were far the hell too many.
So, back to vlogging: I know everyone starts somewhere, and I’ve wanted some of my blogs to be vlogs, (don’t worry, I won’t make you sit through what you’ve already read), and I thought a reaction vid would be great, ‘cuz I swear, me on the internet…I always find things that make my face look funny. Like I was looking at someone I’m subscribed to’s feed (about to see their uploads, ‘cuz I hadn’t watched in a while), and instead I saw the “bands make Minnie mouse twerk” vid…
Nuff said.

But then I think, maybe I shouldn’t vlog until I know what I want to vlog about, right? I’ve found people’s vlogs where they thought “Ooh, I”ll start vlogging on the tube of you, and all will be grand”, so I check out their vid, and find it’s the only one they’ve uploaded in half a year. …Among the things I find to be not cool; that definitely is. I mean, at least they gave it a shot, but I'm just saying -  I don’t want to be one of those.

I also know that once you upload something, you’re not getting it back, so you have to make sure that you aren’t going to say -or do - anything you might eventually regret. That’s for anywhere in the internet, but especially vlogs because once people see it come out of your mouth, well, you already know.

There’s so much to consider, and yeah, I want to do it, ‘cuz I think it’d be fn, but…oh, I just have to go ahead and do it is all. But first, I want to have a solid idea of what I’m going to be uploading. Lots of people do makeup, makeup is nice. Others cook. I enjoy cooking. Others just talk. I like to talk. And vlogs are perfect, because unless there’s someone with you, it’s unlikely that you’ll get interrupted.
I’m gonna stop rambling now…

I henna'd my hair ^_^

but you'll have to excuse my messy hair pics, lol.

Well, editing went terribly…I was fiddling around and…pressed the wrong button…well, no matter. It’s not like I planned on uploading those vids, anyway.
What I do have for you is this: results from my henna-ing project.
It didn’t turn out exactly the same ‘cuz since I followed the directions and didn’t make it a watery mess, I instead made it a gloopy mess, and didn’t’ get every area of my hair covered, and it’s kind of hard to tell when both your hands and hair are messed up with henna.
So here’s me bef ore the project:
So that’s me before I did anything to it, my bangs wouldn’t stay down, so…that’s why, lol.

Lies, that’s the henna I used. Probably not the best, but it didn’t make me go bald, either. (This is the second time I've used it, too.
That’s the henna all mixed up like they said it should be – in a paste.

I really like piggy tails – oh, see count chocula in the background?

Nvm my cleavage...

You can’t tell too well in this pic, but parts of my hair are still just dark brown, so it kind of looks like I’ve got highlights.
Next time, I’m just doing it the messy way again…And a proper oil treatment. I love doing oil treatments.
For a couple days after this, I was looking for my coconut oil – which I usually use for this, and forgot I put it in the fridge ‘til I found it there this morning. I use this organic one, you can get it at whole foods. I just happened to be in my old neighborhood for a while, and stopped in at tjmaxx, where they were having a sale on it. I had to buy the last two there. :P.

Welp, that's all for now, New post tomorrow, but it'll be rambly, I can tell you that now.

Hey guys, WIW and pool pics

Well, for my weigh in and %check wednesday,

I've had no weight gain, but no % change, either. I won't get discouraged though, lifestyle changes take a while to actually happen, but I think I'll try and up my exercises, because I keep seeing cool ones on different sites, tumblr, and youtube among them that I think I should try.

(what I really want though, is some weights, not barbie ones, either.) My family used to have a real weights set before we got all nomadic again...Seriously, we move too much. Probably habit, though, 'cuz I used to be an army brat, so we were always moving anyway.

So, anysnooch, thought I'd show you guys the pool pics, I only took a couple 'cuz right after I took them, I hopped in, too. In these pics, I was still wearing pants, I just had them rolled up, lol. (they were loose pantalones.

And Aiden really can't see without his glasses, so, that hsould explain that, as well. Next time, though, (I'll probably need to swim again on saturday), I'll get pics of our pool and sauna.
I was doing leg lifts and he was my weights!

the water looks really blue, huh? But after a while, we had to go heat up/dry off in the sauna. It was so pleasant!

This is from whenI went to drop some documents off at the uni. I went to my old neighborhood after 'cuz I wanted to try the recipe that failed...you guys remember the one. But look! I found the holy grail of MAMA Ramen!!!!! I got a couple packs, but there was no ducky flavor!!! :(

I tried to put this pic on fitocracy after I made the black rice, chicken and kimchi meal. It was DEEEELICIOUS!!! But now I seriously need more of my kimchi. You wouldn't believe how fast I go through that stuff!!! It's so sad...really sad... I can't help it though, I really can't. Did I mention it's healthy? But you wouldn't believe how many calories are in the black rice. Even though nutrient-wise, it's even better for you than brown, well...minimally, but to me, it tastes better. It's chewier, anyway.

So tonight, now that I have sticky rice, I"m going to soak the black rice, use some of that water to cook my sticky rice, and make chicken rice balls, 'cuz that'd be freaking awesome. Come to school with purple rice. Not like anyone'd see it, but that doesn't matter. I'll just smile to myself about how awesome it is, lol. ^___^

Pools and saunas are AMAZING

Sorry in advance for the lack of pics and this being a full three days late...

Hey, guys. Today (Saturday...) wasn’t so stellar ‘til I got home, had some food, did my workout, and went to the pool/sauna, which I tweeted about recently. ^_^

To start off, I woke up early, headed in to work, forgot my phone, only to find out that we’d each get to work a whopping 3 hours…I split my shift with a coworker, because we’re that slow…one of my other coworkers was there, he left a lot sooner, but I saw him playing his djembe  (sp?) drum in the café. He lives super close.

So, anyway, since the girl I was working with took the first three hours, and we weren’t both allowed to be clocked in, I went home to grab my phone. I figured that since I need to study, anyway, I’d grab my laptop and accounting book so when I got back, I’d study til it was time for me to start again.
(I'll put pics of it up later, I forgot my phone's connecty cord.)

Well, I thought it would be a great idea to take my bike in ‘cuz I thought I knew a shortcut. Mistake one) wearing heavy backpack while trying to bike…Mistake two) I haven’t biked in a while, so I actually didn’t know a shortcut at all.

I still got to work before I was supposed to start again, but that was not fun. The brat guy was there, and despite having issues with him, I’m fully capable of being cordial. He’s not the brightest tool in the shed by any means, so …yeah… (People who know me know that I HATE stupid with a burning passion that shall never be quenched...sorry...wait...no I'm not. >. >) That was easily the longest three hours of my entire life.
I went home after we tore down (and by “we”, I mean “I”, because he literally does nothing but put condiments into boxes and tell everyone else to "find a place for them, but keep them together"... .) with a migraine from hell, in a bad mood, but I relaxed, anyway, and Aiden and I eventually hit the sauna.

Then we went to the pool ‘cuz he was curious about the water, which was uncharacteristically warm , so we both swam for a while. Then we went back to the sauna (we were only in there for like, a minute, the first time.)

My workout today was …well, it was ok, I lost count, so I ended up doing a full 20 reps more than necessary, but that’s ok. Just means more strength. I have to do more next week, anyway, so I can get used to it now. I felt results on our way down to the pool, BOY does this workout WORK my legs. I have to add more variety to my abs and arms workouts, though, ‘cuz I don’t feel them at all/as much respectively the day after, like I do with the leg ones.

This could be because I used to work the living BLEEP out of my abs when I lived in the dorms. I was doing full hundreds, and other ab workouts. It was great, you could feel the muscle under…all of my…pudge…but still, the muscles were being worked, and I think maybe I just have to modify my workout schedules so I can feel my results.

I really enjoy feeling my results, gives me a sense of accomplishment. Also, in theory, anyway, one eventually sees results. Results are good. But now I’m just rambling.

My left ring finger kind of hurts, though. I don’t know why, it just does. I can’t remember doing anything dumb to it, but sometimes I’ll just have a random finger cramp on me while I type. Probably bad finger posturing…is that even a word? Well…word says it is…whatevs. Anysnooch, maybe I should invest in an ergonomic keyboard. My mom has one that she’s used for years. They take a while to get used to, though.

K, I think I’m done rambling your eyes off for today.

Finally back with a new post.

And I'll have another up after class, which luckily doesn't start for about 20 minutes.  (pics will again have NOTHING to do with my postfessional...)

Egh. Hi, all. Back with some adjustments.
I’ve still been eating my banana a day, but I’ve come to the realization, that I’ve been eating too many calories, which is why my weight hasn’t budged, despite being active…er.
So, anysnooch, I’m lowering my calories, but my body didn’t like that yesterday. I think it was too sudden. However, I’m confident that it’s going to work, and I’ll get used to it.
As for my activity, this no excuses November thing is still coming along nicely. I enjoy it, especially the burn during my exercises, despite how much I might complain about it at the time. The next day, when I’m still sore – I know something’s been done right, and that’s very rewarding. Hee hee, my muscles are getting toned! YEAH!!!!!!!

My face looks chalky, I think...well, I used the wrong blush...eh.

Today is arms day, which means pushups, though. I suck at them ‘cuz my shoulders always hurt, but I think if I just keep doing them, maybe my shoulders will get stronger? (It’ll also help if I don’t carry so much crap in my bags, but I need the two heaviest things in there. I’ll figure something out about that.
The reason I thought about lowering my calories in the first place, though was partly (minimally, to be honest) because I wasn’t losing weight doing whatever it is I was doing at the time, and majorly because I read a blog by this woman….oh, I think it’s Black Girls Run, where she talked about how the 2000 daily recommended calories thing was kind of super dumb. Then she broke it down, that the reason so many people trying to lose weight on a 2000 calorie diet were gaining instead is because their bodies don’t require that many.
No, I'm not trying to picspam of myself, just...needed pics...and that was there...so..yeah...

I wasn’t trying to eat that many calories in a day by any means, I promise. I was doing between 1650 and 1800, just after seeing what my calorie count logs after a week were (I kind of forgot about the app for a while, so I pinned it to my start – guess which phone I have, lol), and that told me why I would either gain or stay the same on my weigh in days. I was eating to gain or maintain the weight I’m trying to get rid of. (Note, I have NO intention of finding this chizz once it’s gone, lol.)
So, I went through a bunch of calorie calculators online, and they all told me that I was supposed to be eating just a bit less to lose. Then I had a brilliant idea (well, it might not be brilliant, but it’s an idea that doesn’t go below 1200, anyway.) I looked into basal metabolic rate calculators. If you only need so many calories to exist, and you exercise on top of it, you can eat those calories back, if you want. I’m not sure if it’s the best plan, but if you only require x amount to maintain weight you want, then only eat x amount to get there on top of exercising sounds like a winner to me.

So, I’m going to try that and next weigh in day, I’ll see where I’m at. I’m still gonna take my measurements though and check if my body composition has changed any. I’m really super excited about this. Next step is to eat 80% clean, then boost it up to 100%. I currently have no idea how clean my diet is, but my assumption is that it’s not very. I seriously need to start eating the black rice more often, since it’s a delicious complex carb. (side note: it tastes great with kimchi and chicken, doesn’t matter how you do it. Mine was seared and boiled.)
But back to my exercising, I like fitocracy, it’s a wonderful supportive website for people who want to get fit – like me. You can log and track your workouts, and save them as routines. Except for my leg workout, I tried saving that as a routine and got an error message, even though I saved the other two successfully on my phone. …oh well. It may just have to wait ‘til I get to an internet source ( I’m typing this at home with no net…)

Also, I did a bit more research just to make sure I’m not spewing absolute filth onto the internet, and yes, eating at a target bmr may not kill you, but it can end up not being the best thing for you, either.
Now it’s story time. Back when I was living in the dorms, and I was first trying to get rid of my bc weight, I started eating less, but what I did eat was healthier options, shit Id like one of those salads I was eating right about now, spinach, eggs, Tabasco, and/or red wine vinegar, depending on my mood. Sometimes I’d add croutons for crunchiness, but that’s beside the point…

I wasn’t counting my calories until we got a nutritionist, who told me that I should be. I just never thought about it much before then. So, anyway, I started tracking, and noticed that daily, I was eating less than a thousand calories. (I also didn’t know what a target bmr was, so I wasn’t trying to eat at one of those, either) That explained the weight loss, of course. I didn’t feel like I was starving myself, and I didn’t get any of those anorexia issues people tend to get when they eat such few calories. I’m not advising that anyone go off and do that, either. That was bad me being bad, because afterwards, I kept at it for …a while, ‘til the weight loss stopped (I’m guessing I ate like that for maybe a couple months). Then I read online that I was supposed to up my calories, so I did cycling, where I’d eat more on some days, and less on others.
Srsly, super delicious.

Then I just stopped tracking, and put weight back on like a dumb butt.
So, back to my point – track, see what works for you, but keep in mind that the guidelines are probably there for a reason.

Oh, but I just made gochujang chicken stew last night, and it turned out pretty nice!
